A Three Minutes Thesis Competition (3MT) was held at Qurtuba University Peshawar on 19th March 2022. Qurtuba University of Science & Information Technology has been authorized to develop a 3MT competition and has permission to use the brand and all resources as long as the same rules, judging criteria and guidelines prescribed by The University of Queensland, Australia. Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) celebrates the exciting research conducted by PhD students. 3MT exercise cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research and its significance in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Eleven departments in two categories (MS/M.Phil. and Ph.D.) of the university participated in the competition, including English, Management Sciences, Computer Science, Urdu, Economics, Islamic Studies, Physics, Botany, Zoology, IR and Political Science and Education. The 3MT was among those research scholars of MPhil and PhD programs who were in their research phase and completed 2/3 of their research work. The winners for first, second and third prize in MS/M.Phil. category was Miss Saima (Economics), Miss Rabia Shah (English) and Mr. Tariq Jameel (Management Sciences) respectively. Similarly, the winners for first, second and third prize in Ph.D. category was Miss Asma (Teacher Education), Mr. Adnan Amir (Urdu) and Mr. Akbar Jan (English) respectively. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Khan (Dean Faculty of Engineering & Additional Registrar), Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed (Dean Faculty of Social Sciences), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Riaz Khan (Dean Faculty of Physical & Numerical Sciences) and Prof. Dr. Mujib Rahman were the respected judges of the event. Majority of the students, supervisors of the contestants and senior administration of the university attended the session. The winners of 3MT were awarded by certificates and souvenirs by Honorable Maj(R) Dr. Abdul Hafeez Khan Niazi, President Qurtuba University, Dr. Saif-Ul Islam, (Pro Vice-Chancellor), Mr. Muhammad Sohaib Khan Niazi and Deans of Faculties.
