The Department of Pharmacy at Qurtuba University of Science and Technology has been established in 2021 and received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan on November 5, 2021.

Pharmacy is a field that combines the art and science of preparing medicines from both natural and synthetic sources, ensuring their suitability and effectiveness in the treatment and prevention of diseases. It encompasses the identification, selection, isolation, combination, analysis, standardization, pharmacological actions, and safe use of drugs and medicines.

Over the years, the pharmacy profession has significantly expanded beyond traditional roles and is now recognized as an essential component of multidisciplinary healthcare system. With globalization, Fostering innovations in the health sector, particularly in pharmacy, the role of pharmacists has evolved. Once Pharmacists were primarily responsible for manufacturing and supplying medicines, today, their responsibilities extend to clinical services and pharmaceutical patenting. As healthcare demands shift, pharmacists play a pivotal role in patient care.

The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) professional program is a full-time, five-year degree that meets the educational requirements for pharmacist licensure. It prepares graduates for diverse career opportunities, including roles in Drug administration, Hospital pharmacy, Clinical pharmacy Community Pharmacy. Academia, Research and development, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical Marketing.

To become a leading Centre in the provision of knowledge and service in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences towards achieving and reviving Islamic glory in science and technology.

Towards actualizing the Departmental vision, we intend to undertake the following endeavors.

1. Changing the status of the Department to the level of Faculty of Pharmacy.
2. Producing better quality professionals, intellectuals and scholars in the field of Pharmacy to serve as agents of comprehensive and balanced progress as well as sustainable development specifically in Pakistan and the whole world in general.
3. Introducing top quality graduates through innovative and effective teaching and learning environment.
